<p>SoftBench was released in 1989 and presented in the June 1990 <a href="/facts/HP_Journal/aUV0EnyH">HP Journal</a>.<a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:1" href="#fn:1"><sup>1</sup></a> It was an early adoption of some of the <a href="/facts/Integrated_development_environment/jbEINSQf">IDE</a> ideas that are common today in well known IDEs like <a href="/facts/Eclipse_(software)/YoqHVjas">Eclipse</a>.
</p>
