<h2 id="technical-overview">Technical overview</h2> <p>OCAP is the <a href="/facts/Java_(programming_language)/9ScgFyAL">Java</a> based software/middleware portion of the OpenCable initiative. OCAP is based on the <a href="/facts/Globally_Executable_MHP/6rNpv1Kn">Globally Executable MHP</a> (GEM)-standard, and was defined by <a href="/facts/CableLabs/jXu01KGU">CableLabs</a>.
