<h2 id="history">History</h2> <p>In 2002, divers Brian Armstrong, <a href="/facts/Gene_Hobbs/WGJrHR3c">Gene Hobbs</a>, and James Wagner formed the first board of directors for the Rubicon Foundation.<a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:7" href="#fn:7"><sup>7</sup></a> </p> <h2 id="rubicon-research-repository">Rubicon Research Repository</h2> <p>The Rubicon Research Repository (RRR) was the foundation's premier project that started in 2006.<a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:8" href="#fn:8"><sup>8</sup></a><a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:9" href="#fn:9"><sup>9</sup></a><a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:10" href="#fn:10"><sup>10</sup></a> The RRR was an online database of environmental physiology reports, including both <a href="/facts/Hyperbaric_medicine/AjJVW8Qs">hyperbaric</a> and <a href="/facts/Aerospace_physiology/wbM3BdPP">hypobaric</a> medicine, as well as other environmental <a href="/facts/Physiology/fh25y2pQ">physiology</a> topics.<a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:11" href="#fn:11"><sup>11</sup></a><a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:12" href="#fn:12"><sup>12</sup></a><a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:13" href="#fn:13"><sup>13</sup></a><a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:14" href="#fn:14"><sup>14</sup></a> As of 2021 the Rubicon Research Repository is no longer available online. </p><p>The RRR contains workshops and annual meeting proceedings<a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:15" href="#fn:15"><sup>15</sup></a><a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:16" href="/facts/Yahoo!_Groups/Xe4MwHFk">Yahoo! Group</a> with periodic updates of literature in environmental physiology.<a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:49" href="#fn:49"><sup>49</sup></a><a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:50" href="#fn:50"><sup>50</sup></a> The project started in 2007 with the goal of helping researchers stay up-to-date with the most current information however it was ended in 2010 due to technical issues with the Yahoo service.<a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:51" href="#fn:51"><sup>51</sup></a> </p> <h2 id="b-25-recovery-and-preservation-project">B-25 Recovery and Preservation Project</h2> <p>The <a href="/facts/B-25_Mitchell/NN9dD6k8">B-25c Mitchell</a> bomber was ditched on 4 April 1943 and remained 45 metres (148 ft) below the surface of <a href="/facts/Lake_Murray_(South_Carolina)/wuKpNErM">Lake Murray (South Carolina)</a> for 60 years. The recovery effort was headed by Dr. Robert Seigler and supervised by Gary Larkins of the Air Pirates.<a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:52" href="#fn:52"><sup>52</sup></a> Rubicon Foundation divers participated in the recovery effort in 2005.
