It was first flown into space in December 1992 on the <a href="/facts/STS-53/WLbzo0ED">STS-53</a> for use of the <a href="/facts/Nikon_NASA_F4/b0mKk95A">HERCULES</a> <a href="/facts/Geolocation/yY41HfWV">geolocation</a> device.
