<h2 id="uses">Uses</h2> <p>Pressure control is used in any situation where <a href="/facts/Pulmonary_barotrauma/saazRfqt">pulmonary barotrauma</a> may occur such as <a href="/facts/Acute_respiratory_distress_syndrome/1V3mxJkU">acute respiratory distress syndrome</a>.<a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:2" href="#fn:2"><sup>2</sup></a> </p> <h2 id="characteristics">Characteristics</h2> <ul><li>Type of breath — Only mandatory breaths are available to the patient in the pressure control mode in CMV.
