<h2 id="history">History</h2> <p>The <i>Annual Review of Vision Science</i> was first published in 2015 by <a href="/facts/Annual_Reviews_(publisher)/Xb1IW5ax">Annual Reviews</a>. Though it began with a physical edition, it is now only published electronically.<a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:3" href="#fn:3"><sup>3</sup></a> </p><p>Its founding <a href="/facts/Editor-in-chief/d76Qb3Tr">editors</a> were <a href="/facts/J._Anthony_Movshon/QLCo0aoB">J. Anthony Movshon</a> and <a href="/facts/Brian_Wandell/22yYroDY">Brian Wandell</a>.<a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:4" href="#fn:4"><sup>4</sup></a> In 2021, Wandell was succeeded by <a href="/facts/David_H._Brainard/mcqH6YgF">David H. Brainard</a>.<a class="footnote-ref" id="fnref:5" href="#fn:5"><sup>5</sup></a> Brainard and Movshon were joined by <a href="/facts/John_H._R._Maunsell/plkbLdvM">John H. R. The editor is assisted by the editorial committee, which includes associate editors, regular members, and occasionally guest editors. Guest members participate at the invitation of the editor, and serve terms of one year. All other members of the editorial committee are appointed by the Annual Reviews board of directors and serve five-year terms.
