<h2 id="history">History</h2> <p>Apama Ltd. was founded in 1999 by <a href="/facts/John_Bates_(technology_executive)/cYpnWohP">Dr John Bates</a>, Dr Giles Nelson and Dr Mohamad Afshar, who met while undertaking research at the <a href="/facts/Computer_Laboratory%2c_University_of_Cambridge/Dd9unFtw">Cambridge University Department of Computer Science and Technology</a>.
