This partisanship is indicated as lean towards either the <a href="/facts/Republican_Party_(United_States)/XXM1EVPr">Republican Party</a> or the <a href="/facts/Democratic_Party_(United_States)/MNe3nDrL">Democratic Party</a>, compared to the nation as a whole, based on how that district or state voted in the previous two presidential elections. </p>
