RapidX

<p>The RapidX is a <a href="/facts/Semi-high_speed_rail/Ury4hJ7N">rapid</a> <a href="/facts/Rail_transport/9nJQbsDV">rail</a> system operated by the <a href="/facts/National_Capital_Region_Transport_Corporation/Xrpe3B3y">National Capital Region Transport Corporation</a> (NCRTC) in India's <a href="/facts/National_Capital_Region_(India)/zkmeWmWy">National Capital Region</a> (NCR). RapidX is India's first regional rapid transit system and it has been envisioned to replace the conventional non-air-conditioned <a href="/facts/MEMU/xYf4oxjE">MEMU</a>-operated <a href="/facts/Delhi_Suburban_Railway/JTlMQMJ7">local train network</a> with a <a href="/facts/Semi-high_speed_rail/Ury4hJ7N">rapid</a> rail system. The semi-high-speed trainsets operating on RapidX have an average speed of 100 km/h (62 mph).
</p><p>Germany’s <a href="/facts/Deutsche_Bahn/oF3Fe2bV">Deutsche Bahn</a> won the contract to operate and maintain the entire <a href="/facts/Delhi%25E2%2580%2593Meerut_Regional_Rapid_Transit_System/vK6zoFsm">Delhi–Meerut rapid rail transit corridor</a> for 12 years, with a bid valued at approximately ₹1,500 crores (roughly US$178 million).
