The name <i>Connaught</i> is said to derive from abbreviating <i>Continental Autos</i>, the garage in <a href="/facts/Send%2c_Surrey/m2T82hvy">Send, Surrey</a>, where the cars were built and which specialised in sales and repair of European sports cars such as <a href="/facts/Bugatti/D0sffJHJ">Bugatti</a>, but given the spelling may reference the Irish province of <a href="/facts/Connaught/rfQFugRg">Connaught</a>. </p>
