Natural language processing

It is primarily concerned with providing computers with the ability to process data encoded in <a href="/facts/Natural_language/B4gLS7Kd">natural language</a> and is thus closely related to <a href="/facts/Information_retrieval/MFSmpeNw">information retrieval</a>, <a href="/facts/Knowledge_representation/9lnzyILD">knowledge representation</a> and <a href="/facts/Computational_linguistics/XmegJ6LC">computational linguistics</a>, a subfield of <a href="/facts/Linguistics/oQuamvf2">linguistics</a>.
