<p>The Intercity Experimental, later renamed ICE V, was an experimental train developed by the <a href="/facts/Deutsche_Bundesbahn/4XW3yJyP">Deutsche Bundesbahn</a> for research into <a href="/facts/High-speed_rail/I1obpP6M">high-speed rail</a> in Germany. It is the predecessor of all <a href="/facts/Intercity_Express/TwUF1cHN">Intercity Express</a> trains of the <a href="/facts/Deutsche_Bahn/oF3Fe2bV">Deutsche Bahn</a>. </p>
