<p>Allen French (November 28, 1870 – October 6, 1946) was a historian and children's book author who did major research on the <a href="/facts/American_Revolutionary_War/8MxJNtcU">American Revolutionary War</a>'s <a href="/facts/Battles_of_Lexington_and_Concord/f7cbUFXP">Battles of Lexington and Concord</a>. He was a founding member and president of the <a href="/facts/Thoreau_Society/lzNvUmvr">Thoreau Society</a>. </p>
