<p>PDF.js is a <a href="/facts/JavaScript_library/vjUJ5DGC">JavaScript library</a> that renders <a href="/facts/Portable_Document_Format/C9Mn1vYL">Portable Document Format</a> (PDF) files using the <a href="/facts/Web_standard/3U9MLjD1">web standards</a>-compliant <a href="/facts/HTML5_Canvas/E6IPUWf1">HTML5 Canvas</a>. The project is led by the <a href="/facts/Mozilla_Corporation/AGF9famv">Mozilla Corporation</a> after <a href="/facts/Andreas_Gal/rN0Q3rl3">Andreas Gal</a> launched it (initially as an experiment) in 2011. </p>
