<p>A mini blind is a type of horizontal <a href="/facts/Window_blind/s0re13Lb">window blind</a> made of long, narrow slats held together by string. Each slat is less than half the width of that in a regular <a href="/facts/Venetian_blind/s0re13Lb">venetian blind</a>, measuring 15 mm (0.59 in) or 25 mm (0.98 in), and often made of <a href="/facts/Aluminium/7wmR8jYE">aluminium</a>. The slats are opened and closed by rotating a rod or by directly <a href="/facts/Pullstring/BcC3NDg0">pulling a string</a>, and they are raised and lowered by pulling other strings. </p><p>In the United Kingdom the term <i>venetian blind</i> also covers mini blinds. </p>
