The company was founded in 1973 by <a href="/facts/Les_Besser/d0zP4zuj">Les Besser</a> to commercialize his eponymous program COMPACT (Computerized Optimization of Microwave Passive and Active CircuiTs), released when he was at Farinon Electric Company. </p>
