Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative

<p>The Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) is a collaborative, patients' needs-driven, <a href="/facts/Non-profit/AmXu2c85">non-profit</a> <a href="/facts/Drug_research_and_development/k34jgV4B">drug research and development</a> (R&D) organization that is developing new treatments for <a href="/facts/Neglected_tropical_diseases/FxkW4Anb">neglected diseases</a>, notably <a href="/facts/Leishmaniasis/L5v8Thy1">leishmaniasis</a>, sleeping sickness (human <a href="/facts/African_trypanosomiasis/zuvUoRKC">African trypanosomiasis</a>, HAT), <a href="/facts/Chagas_disease/C7rKMw5A">Chagas disease</a>, <a href="/facts/Malaria/rN3g58CX">malaria</a>, <a href="/facts/Filariasis/8AkVK5hy">filarial diseases</a>, <a href="/facts/Mycetoma/EvRT7ECt">mycetoma</a>, <a href="/facts/HIV/AIDS/RqLIEMuJ">paediatric HIV</a>, <a href="/facts/Cryptococcosis/H8gpKmPA">cryptococcal meningitis</a>, <a href="/facts/Hepatitis_C/kwb7IIht">hepatitis C</a>, and <a href="/facts/Dengue_fever/Stn1FvlF">dengue</a>. DNDi's malaria activities were transferred to <a href="/facts/Medicines_for_Malaria_Venture/JKbjpCWb">Medicines for Malaria Venture</a> (MMV) in 2015.
</p><p>Led by Executive Director Luis Pizarro, DNDi has offices in Switzerland (Geneva), Brazil, the Democratic Republic of Congo, India, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, and an affiliate in the United States.
