It preserves <a href="/facts/Fossils/by7NzIA1">fossils</a> dating back to the <a href="/facts/Neogene/zUJxvjuH">Neogene</a> <a href="/facts/Period_(geology)/6LBR11yQ">period</a>. Much of its fossils consist of <a href="/facts/Glires/WTlwFWBv">Glires</a> and fish, though <a href="/facts/Cetaceans/rtC33h63">cetaceans</a> and <a href="/facts/Cryptobranchidae/7sjlNbsf">cryptobranchid</a> salamanders are also known. </p>
