<p><i>Maros</i> was one of two Leitha-class <a href="/facts/River_monitor/VbSLy3TY">river monitors</a> built for the <a href="/facts/Austro-Hungarian_Navy/KVYApsuN">Austro-Hungarian Navy</a> during the 1870s. Completed in 1872, she participated in the <a href="/facts/First_World_War/vITTUanQ">First World War</a> of 1914–1918 and the subsequent <a href="/facts/Hungarian%E2%80%93Czechoslovak_War/caWEY4hV">Hungarian–Czechoslovak War</a> of 1918–1919. </p>
