The phenomenon of <a href="/facts/Belief/HbPvkGT6">belief</a> creating reality is known by several names in literature: self-fulfilling prophecy, expectancy confirmation, and behavioral confirmation, which was first coined by <a href="/facts/Social_psychology/VfEKM8U0">social psychologist</a> <a href="/facts/Mark_Snyder_(psychologist)/5C21ua5G">Mark Snyder</a> in 1984.
