<p>Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act (<a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/266">H.R. 266</a>) is a $484 billion law that increases funding to the <a href="/facts/Paycheck_Protection_Program/IebArAEX">Paycheck Protection Program</a> and also provides more funding for hospitals and testing for <a href="/facts/COVID-19/YsUgvsaX">COVID-19</a>. The law was enacted as a response to the outbreak of the <a href="/facts/COVID-19_pandemic/0xTsh7Ut">COVID-19 pandemic</a>. </p><p>The bill passed the <a href="/facts/United_States_Senate/VyzXHE01">Senate</a> by <a href="/facts/Voice_vote/TDSflf1Y">voice vote</a> on April 21, 2020. The bill passed the <a href="/facts/United_States_House_of_Representatives/cdBPb9pY">House of Representatives</a> by a vote of 388-5 on April 23. President <a href="/facts/Donald_Trump/pqqKY21P">Donald Trump</a> signed the bill into law on April 24, 2020. </p>
