<p>Netropsin (also termed congocidine or sinanomycin) is a <a href="/facts/Polyamide/8AmQgTFa">polyamide</a> with <a href="/facts/Antibiotic/sF1kIfxg">antibiotic</a> and <a href="/facts/Antiviral_drug/Xgbd2eI2">antiviral</a> activity. Netropsin was discovered by Finlay <i>et al.</i>, and first isolated from the <a href="/facts/Actinomycetota/ShmuHEND">actinobacterium</a> <i><a href="/facts/Streptomyces_netropsis/E1r1TUT3">Streptomyces netropsis</a></i>. It belongs to the class of pyrrole-amidine <a href="/facts/Antibiotics/sF1kIfxg">antibiotics</a>. </p>
