2025 Pahalgam attack

<p>On 22 April 2025, militants affiliated with <a href="/facts/The_Resistance_Front/3aej5BVC">The Resistance Front</a>, affiliate of Pakistan-based <a href="/facts/Lashkar-e-Taiba/DeHCQG3z">Lashkar-e-Taiba</a>, opened fire on a group of tourists at the Baisaran Valley in the Indian-administered <a href="/facts/Jammu_and_Kashmir_(union_territory)/F1FbqQpw">Jammu and Kashmir</a> region, and massacred at least 28 people, injuring more than 20 others. The attack, the deadliest in the region after <a href="/facts/Revocation_of_the_special_status_of_Jammu_and_Kashmir/v8cyjG8n">the revocation of its special status</a>, targeted civilians. </p>
