On 22 April 2025, militants affiliated with The Resistance Front, affiliate of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, opened fire on a group of tourists at the Baisaran Valley in the Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir region, and massacred at least 28 people, injuring more than 20 others. The attack, the deadliest in the region after the revocation of its special status, targeted civilians.
