<p>Andragogy refers to methods and principles used in <a href="/facts/Adult_education/z1oywIGj">adult education</a>. The word comes from the <a href="/facts/Ancient_Greek/LIK7NlUh">Greek</a> ἀνδρ- (<i>andr-</i>), meaning "adult male", and ἀγωγός (<i>agogos</i>), meaning "leader of". Therefore, andragogy literally means "leading men (adult males)", whereas "<a href="/facts/Pedagogy/t1LIfLeC">pedagogy</a>" literally means "leading children". </p>
