In the 1950s in rural <a href="/facts/Municipalities_of_Germany/44F8MjXB">municipalities</a>, citizens were drafted for mandatory <a href="/facts/Community_service/4y5uRAX7">community service</a> frequently, but nowadays only small municipalities draft their citizens, like the German town of <a href="/facts/Winsen_an_der_Aller/bzHS0toj">Winsen an der Aller</a> once a year or Bezau in Austria. </p>
