It was described by <a href="/facts/Carl_Linnaeus/gy5HWkHS">Carl Linnaeus</a> in his 1758 <a href="/facts/10th_edition_of_Systema_Naturae/8H6KJrLJ">10th edition of <i>Systema Naturae</i></a>. It is found throughout Europe. </p>
