The olefin products are converted to <a href="/facts/Fatty_aldehyde/c8H2KxB9">fatty aldehydes</a> and then to <a href="/facts/Fatty_alcohol/VyaF3Wm5">fatty alcohols</a>, which are precursors to <a href="/facts/Plasticizer/RjzuplRY">plasticizers</a> and <a href="/facts/Detergent/4FLKXR6p">detergents</a>. The annual global production of olefins through this method is over one million <a href="/facts/Tonnes/gMymLmWv">tonnes</a>. </p>
