It is soluble in water and its solution shows some green-yellow <a href="/facts/Fluorescence/qsJVT2qP">fluorescence</a>. It was discovered in 1822 by <a href="/facts/Leopold_Gmelin/IHp6vhYS">Leopold Gmelin</a>. </p>
