In certain situations, the C++ grammar cannot distinguish between the <a href="/facts/Initialization_(programming)/rFtbHWvF">creation</a> of an object <a href="/facts/Parameter_(computer_programming)/LcuLbbSq">parameter</a> and <a href="/facts/Type_declaration/CbH6UjHA">specification of a function's type</a>. In those situations, the compiler is required to interpret the line as the latter. </p>
