Linear complementarity problem

<p>In mathematical <a href="/facts/Optimization_(mathematics)/oRn8Iv5I">optimization theory</a>, the linear complementarity problem (LCP) arises frequently in <a href="/facts/Computational_mechanics/t8EAMTke">computational mechanics</a> and encompasses the well-known <a href="/facts/Quadratic_programming/ct4RIUgs">quadratic programming</a> as a special case. It was proposed by Cottle and <a href="/facts/George_Dantzig/04se7h0M">Dantzig</a> in 1968. </p>
