<p><i>Ameloctopus litoralis</i> is the only <a href="/facts/Species/oDg6b96r">species</a> of <a href="/facts/Octopus/z5uokKFF">octopus</a> in <a href="/facts/Monotypic/QvoM9aGP">monotypic</a> genus <i>Ameloctopus</i>. It is found in shallow waters in tropical Australia and lacks an <a href="/facts/Cephalopod_ink/lqYDNTWW">ink sack</a>. <i>Ameloctopus litoralis</i> lays large <a href="/facts/Egg_(biology)/KyMSx9v4">eggs</a> compared to other octopuses. </p> <ul><li>Norman, M.
