<p> JEDMICS stands for "Joint Engineering Data Management Information and Control System”. It is a <a href="/facts/United_States_Department_of_Defense/dWAvf7e3">Department of Defense</a> (DoD) initiative for the management and control of <a href="/facts/Engineering_drawing/DcK9GuTV">engineering drawings</a> and related text in a standard <a href="/facts/Information_repository/P5x77e39">repository</a>. JEDMICS has been designed as an open, <a href="/facts/Client-server/FSnf27C5">client-server</a> architecture which provides the user with the ability to locate and obtain approved engineering drawings (and associated data). The system provides input services via <a href="/facts/Electronic_data_interchange/ydnn0fTW">electronic file transfer</a>, quality assurance review of the drawings, selective retrieval of data using a relational database with built-in business rules, and digital output services. </p>
