<p>Andriyan Grigoryevich Nikolayev was a <a href="/facts/Soviet_Union/m7wWsPto">Soviet</a> <a href="/facts/Astronaut/HB1bd6Lz">cosmonaut</a>. In 1962, aboard <a href="/facts/Vostok_3/AIPJVctv">Vostok 3</a>, he became the third Soviet cosmonaut to fly into space. Nikolayev was an ethnic <a href="/facts/Chuvash_people/Pw8IjuXr">Chuvash</a> and because of it considered the first <a href="/facts/Turkic_peoples/ocd7rpI3">Turkic</a> cosmonaut. </p>
