The reactor was dual-purpose - producing <a href="/facts/Weapons-grade_plutonium/o2S0c30F">weapons-grade plutonium</a> and providing heat and electricity. The <a href="/facts/RBMK/nFbFDLCf">RBMK</a> series nuclear reactors are based off the ADE series reactors. </p>
