It was first synthesized by <a href="/facts/Alexander_Shulgin/DK7CAPtu">Alexander Shulgin</a> and documented in his book <i><a href="/facts/PiHKAL/sAR8owwC">PiHKAL</a></i>. Like the other substances in its family, it produces sensory and cognitive effects in its physical reactions with living organisms. </p>
