Large <a href="/facts/Steam_turbine/scacVXsB">steam-powered</a> turbo generators provide the majority of the world's electricity and are also used by steam-powered <a href="/facts/Turbo-electric/dEcEz4Md">turbo-electric</a> ships. </p><p>Small turbo-generators driven by <a href="/facts/Gas_turbine/JJJNwXrG">gas turbines</a> are often used as <a href="/facts/Auxiliary_power_unit/oEdDBr27">auxiliary power units</a> (APU, mainly for <a href="/facts/Aircraft/EhC4mBep">aircraft</a>). </p>
