PAgP is proprietary to <a href="/facts/Cisco_Systems/ocDgQt6T">Cisco Systems</a>. A similar protocol known as <a href="/facts/Link_Aggregation_Control_Protocol/3BE3qHDT">Link Aggregation Control Protocol</a> (LACP) — released by the <a href="/facts/IEEE/UddC4pUW">IEEE</a> — is an industry standard and is not tied to a specific vendor.

PAgP uses the same multicast group <a href="/facts/MAC_address/SVcTfgUH">MAC address</a> of CDP.
