<p>Modugno (Italian: [moˈduɲɲo]; <a href="/facts/Bari_dialect/EG9SRetu">Barese</a>: <i>Medùgne</i> [məˈduɲɲə]) is a town and <i><a href="/facts/Comune/Bxsc8IYY">comune</a></i> (municipality) of the <a href="/facts/Metropolitan_City_of_Bari/kwUtYHRE">Metropolitan City of Bari</a>, <a href="/facts/Apulia/svvnMLN5">Apulia</a>, <a href="/facts/Southern_Italy/KJYA2ooC">southern Italy</a>. It borders the municipalities of <a href="/facts/Bari/ESFCEfdS">Bari</a>, <a href="/facts/Bitetto/MISspjLG">Bitetto</a>, <a href="/facts/Bitonto/7FUdFej4">Bitonto</a>, <a href="/facts/Bitritto/CJF8DEXT">Bitritto</a>, and <a href="/facts/Palo_del_Colle/75ptsHQN">Palo del Colle</a>. </p><p>Before the 1970s, the town was mainly dedicated to agriculture; since construction of an industrial zone, it has become an important factory site in the region. Modugno is 5 kilometres (3 mi) from the shore. The landscape is mainly flat. </p>
