History

ChatBot (BotEngine) has its origins in a research project created by the company Text (formerly LiveChat Software), which won with this project at hackathon in 2016.234 In August 2017, LiveChat launched a beta version of the BotEngine chatbots build platform.567

In September 2017, LiveChat integrated with BotEngine.89 ChatBot, in its current form, was launched on February 21, 2018. In March 2018, BotEngine was released from its beta version.10 Later that year, the product has been rebranded to ChatBot, following the purchase of the chatbot.com domain.111213 In October 2019, ChatBot added a feature to collect customized data about visitors who interacted with bots on websites or Facebook.14 In May 2020, ChatBot in partnership with Infermedica, launched COVID-19 Risk Assessment ChatBot.15

In March 2021, ChatBot launched a new version of Visual Builder.16

Overview

ChatBot is a platform for building automatic chatbots using artificial intelligence.1718

ChatBot constructs bots using integration with a range of tools including Facebook Messenger, LiveChat, Skype, KiK, Slack, Twitter and YouTube.192021

In 2020, the number of ChatBot clients reached 1,000, including22 UEFA, Unilever, HTC, Kayak, Danone, Moody's, GM.2324 ChatBot supports multiple non-profit organizations,25 including: European Mentoring and Coaching Council,26 Musculoskeletal Australia,27 Operation Kindness28 and Tinnitus UK.29 It is mainly used for connecting and engaging with communities, and fundraising.30
