David Common is a Canadian journalist known primarily as a correspondent and anchor for CBC News. He cohosts Marketplace alongside Asha Tomlinson and Charlsie Agro, and since October 2023 has been the host of CBC Radio’s Metro Morning. Born in Winnipeg and raised in Toronto, he attended York University and studied international security in Sweden. His career includes reporting from New York City, Paris, and coverage of major events like the 2010 Haiti earthquake. He has earned a Gemini Award and has been a prominent voice on CBC Radio One’s World Report.
