Below is a partial list of players in the Boston Red Sox minor league organization. Players individually listed here have not yet played in Major League Baseball (MLB), but have reached an advanced level of achievement or notoriety (most minor league players do not meet these criteria). Some notable players in the minor leagues may have their own profile pages, such as first-round draft picks. Note that anyone with a past MLB appearance has their own profile page, even if they are currently playing in the minor leagues.

Franklin Arias

Franklin Alexander Arias (born November 19, 2005) is a Venezuelan professional baseball shortstop and second baseman in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Arias signed with the Boston Red Sox as an international free agent in January 2023.1 He made his professional debut that year with the Dominican Summer League Red Sox.

Arias played 2024 with the Florida Complex League Red Sox and Salem Red Sox.23

Miguel Bleis

Miguel Bleis (born March 1, 2004) is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Bleis was signed by the Boston Red Sox on January 15, 2021, and received a $1.5 million signing bonus.4 He was assigned to the Dominican Summer League Red Sox to begin his professional career and hit for a .252 average in 36 games.5 Bleis spent the 2022 season with the Rookie-level Florida Complex League Red Sox and had a .301/.353/.542 slash line with 14 doubles, four triples, and five home runs while driving in 27 runs, scoring 28 runs, and stealing 18 bases over 40 games.67 His season ended in August after he experienced back tightness.8

Bleis entered the 2023 season ranked as a consensus top-100 prospect.9 He was assigned to the Salem Red Sox of the Single-A Carolina League at the beginning of the season.10 In 31 games, Bleis slashed .230/.282/.325 with 1 home run, 16 RBI, and 11 stolen bases. On June 10, 2023, it was announced that Bleis would undergo surgery on his left shoulder and miss the remainder of the season.11 Bleis began the 2024 season with Salem, ranked as the Red Sox' number five minor-league prospect by Baseball America.12

Brandon Clarke

Brandon Christopher Clarke (born April 10, 2003) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Clarke attended Independence High School in Ashburn, Virginia and played college baseball at the University of Alabama for a year before transferring to State College of Florida, Manatee–Sarasota.13 He was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the fifth round of the 2024 Major League Baseball Draft.14

Clark signed with the Red Sox and made his professional in 2025 with the Salem Red Sox.15 After three starts, he was promoted to the Greenville Drive.16

Shane Drohan

Shane Liam Drohan (born January 7, 1999) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Drohan attended Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 23rd round of the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft.17 He did not sign with the Phillies and played college baseball at Florida State University. In 2019, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League.18 After three years, he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the fifth round of the 2020 MLB Draft.1920

Drohan made his professional debut in 2021 with the Salem Red Sox. He played 2022 with the Greenville Drive and Portland Sea Dogs and started 2023 with Portland.21

On December 6, 2023, the Chicago White Sox selected Drohan from the Red Sox in the Rule 5 draft.22 On February 22, 2024, Drohan underwent a nerve decompression procedure on his left shoulder,23 and was placed on the 60–day injured list to begin the season.24 On June 9, Drohan was activated from the injured list and subsequently designated for assignment.25 On June 12, Drohan was returned to the Red Sox organization.26

Connelly Early

Todd Connelly McNeil Early (born April 3, 2002) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Early attended James River High School in Midlothian, Virginia and played college baseball at the United States Military Academy and the University of Virginia.27 He was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the fifth round of the 2023 Major League Baseball Draft.28

Early signed with the Red Sox and made his professional debut with the Salem Red Sox. He pitched 2024 with the Greenville Drive and Portland Sea Dogs and started 2025 with Portland.2930

Max Ferguson

Max Tucker Ferguson (born August 23, 1999) is an American professional baseball second baseman in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Ferguson played college baseball at Tennessee for three seasons. In 2019, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League.31 He compiled a .333 batting average with two home runs and nine stolen bases before his 2020 sophomore season at Tennessee was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.32 As a junior, Ferguson batted .253 with 12 home runs and 15 stolen bases.33

Ferguson was selected in the fifth round of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft by the San Diego Padres.34 After signing with the team he was assigned to the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League Padres before being promoted to the Lake Elsinore Storm of Low-A West and batted .212 with 29 runs scored and 15 stolen bases in 37 games between the two teams.35 Ferguson returned to Lake Elsinore at the beginning of the 2022 season.36 He batted .247 and stole 51 bases in 64 games with the team before being promoted to the High-A Fort Wayne TinCaps of the Midwest League.37

On August 2, 2022, Ferguson, Eric Hosmer, Corey Rosier, and cash considerations were traded to the Boston Red Sox in exchange for Jay Groome.3839 Ferguson finished the 2022 season with the High-A Greenville Drive.40 Overall with three teams during 2022, he batted a combined .214 with seven home runs and 60 RBIs in 114 games.41

Ferguson spent most of 2023 with Greenville, while also playing five Triple-A games with the Worcester Red Sox.42 Overall for the 2023 season, he batted .228 with five home runs and 34 RBIs in 91 games.43

Jhostynxon García

Jhostynxon Alirio García (/joʊstinsoʊn/, born December 11, 2002) is a Venezuelan professional baseball outfielder for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). His first name is pronounced "YOS-tin-son".44 His nickname is "The Password".45

On July 2, 2019, García signed with the Boston Red Sox as an international free agent.46 He did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.47 García made his professional debut in 2021 with the Dominican Summer League Red Sox, hitting .282 with four home runs and 27 RBI in 45 games.48

García spent the 2022 campaign with the rookie-level Florida Complex League Red Sox, playing in 31 games and batting .188/.328/.366 with three home runs, 17 RBI, and four stolen bases.49 He played 2023 with the Single-A Salem Red Sox, playing in 73 games and slashing .230/.329/.374 with four home runs, 24 RBI, and nine stolen bases.50

García split the 2024 campaign between the Salem, the High-A Greenville Drive, and Double-A Portland Sea Dogs, slashing a combined .286/.356/.536 with 23 home runs, 66 RBI, and 17 stolen bases over 107 appearances. Following the season, the Red Sox added García to their 40-man roster to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.51

García was optioned to Double-A Portland to begin the 2025 season.52

Nathan Hickey

Nathaniel Thomas Hickey (born November 23, 1999) is an American professional baseball catcher in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Hickey attended the Providence School in Jacksonville, Florida and played college baseball at the University of Florida. He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the fifth round of the 2021 Major League Baseball Draft.53

Hickey spent his first professional season with Florida Complex League Red Sox and the Salem Red Sox. He started 2022 with Salem before being promoted to the Greenville Drive. He played 2023 with Greenville and the Portland Sea Dogs.5455 After the season, he played in the Arizona Fall League.56

Entering the 2024 season, Hickey was ranked as the Red Sox' number 15 minor-league prospect by Baseball America.57

Liu Chih-jung

In this Chinese name, the family name is Liu.

Liu Chih-jung (Chinese: 劉致榮; born April 7, 1999) is a Taiwanese professional baseball pitcher in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Liu was a shortstop and pitcher in high school. Due to a heavy pitching load in high school, his coaches at Chinese Culture University utilized his skills solely as a position player during his first season of collegiate baseball. He returned to pitching in 2019.58

Professional career

Liu signed with the Boston Red Sox as a pitcher on October 23, 2019, for US$750,000.596061 Liu arrived in the United States for spring training with the Red Sox in February 2020.626364 After the 2020 minor league season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Liu was invited to participate in the Red Sox' fall instructional league.65 Liu began the 2021 season in extended spring training, was first assigned to the Florida Complex League Red Sox where he made a single start,66 and was then promoted to the Salem Red Sox in early July.67 Overall during the 2021 season, he compiled a 4.23 earned run average (ERA) and 5–1 win–loss record in 13 starts while striking out 60 batters in 55+1⁄3 innings pitched.68

Liu began the 2022 season in High-A with the Greenville Drive.69 In 25 games (21 starts) with the Drive, he had a 4–11 record with a 6.10 ERA.70 He also made one start in Double-A for the Portland Sea Dogs, resulting in a no decision after allowing two earned runs in 3+2⁄3 innings.71 Liu spent the 2023 season with Portland, pitching to a 7–8 record in 26 games (24 starts) with a 5.35 ERA.72

International career

Liu participated in the 2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup for Chinese Taipei as a pitcher and position player. He pitched in the 2019 Asian Baseball Championship,73 in which he was named the most valuable player,74 and the Chinese Taipei national baseball team won the gold medal. He was to appear in the 2019 WBSC Premier12,75 but sat out the tournament due to injuries.7677 Liu competed in baseball at the 2022 Asian Games (the 2022 Asian Games were played in 2023); appearing in two games, he pitched five innings while yielding two hits and striking out eight batters,78 and won a silver medal with Chinese Taipei.

Bryan Mata

Bryan Eduardo Mata (born May 3, 1999) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher in the Boston Red Sox organization. Listed at 6 feet 3 inches (1.91 m) and 160 pounds (73 kg), he bats and throws right-handed.

Mata signed with the Boston Red Sox as an international free agent in January 2016 for a $25,000 signing bonus.79 He made his professional debut that summer for the DSL Red Sox and spent all the whole season there, compiling a 4–4 record, a 2.80 ERA, and a 1.20 WHIP in 14 games started. In 2017, he played for the Single–A Greenville Drive where he posted a 5–6 record with a 3.74 ERA in 17 starts.80

MLB.com ranked Mata as Boston's fourth best prospect going into the 2018 season.81 Playing for the High–A Salem Red Sox, Mata was the sole Boston prospect selected to the 2018 All-Star Futures Game,82 where he pitched an inning of scoreless relief, allowing one hit while walking one and striking out one.83 In 17 starts for Salem, Mata was 6–3 with a 3.50 ERA and a 1.61 WHIP.84

Mata started the 2019 season with Salem,85 and was promoted to the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs on July 1.86 Overall with both teams during the season, Mata compiled a 7–7 record with 3.43 ERA and 111 strikeouts in 105 innings.87 After the 2020 minor league season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mata was invited to participate in the Red Sox' fall instructional league.88 Following the 2020 season, Mata was ranked by Baseball America as the Red Sox' number four prospect.89

On November 20, 2020, Mata was added to Boston's 40-man roster in order to be protected from the Rule 5 draft.90 During 2021 spring training, he sustained a slight UCL tear.91 On April 13, 2021, Mata underwent Tommy John surgery, ending his 2021 season.92 Mata began the 2022 season on the injured list in Triple-A with the Worcester Red Sox.93 He resumed pitching in May in extended spring training,94 and played in a minor-league game for the first time in over two years in early June.95 With four different teams during 2022, Mata pitched in 19 games (18 starts) while compiling a 2.49 ERA in 83 innings with a 7–3 record.96

Mata spent 2023 in Triple-A with Worcester, compiling an 0–3 record in nine games (seven starts) with a 6.33 ERA in 27 innings pitched in which he gave up 30 walks and had 28 strikeouts.97 Following the 2023 regular season, he played in the Arizona Fall League, where he gave up eight earned runs in nine innings.9899 Mata spent much of the first half of the 2024 season on the injured list due to hamstring and shoulder issues.100 He was transferred to the team's 60-day injured list on July 26.101 Mata was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on November 19.102 On November 22, the Red Sox non–tendered Mata, making him a free agent.103 He re–signed with the organization on a minor-league contract the same day.104

Mata began the 2025 season with Worcester. In mid-June, upon the Red Sox trading Rafael Devers, Mata became the longest-tenured player in the Red Sox organization.105

Yordanny Monegro

Yordanny Isaias Monegro (born October 14, 2002) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Monegro signed with the Boston Red Sox as an international free agent in February 2020.106 He made his professional debut in 2021 with the Dominican Summer League Red Sox.

Monegro played 2022 with the Florida Complex League Red Sox, 2023 with the FCL Red Sox, Salem Red Sox and Greenville Drive and 2024 with the FCL Red Sox and Greenville. He started 2025 with the Portland Sea Dogs.107

Luis Perales

Luis Alexis Perales (born April 14, 2003) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Perales signed with the Boston Red Sox as an international free agent on July 2, 2019.108109 He did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.110

Perales made his professional debut for the Dominican Summer League Red Sox in 2021, and split 2022 between the rookie–level Florida Complex League Red Sox and Single–A Salem Red Sox. He split the 2023 campaign between Salem and the High-A Greenville Drive.111 Perales posted a cumulative 1.77 earned run average (ERA) in 35+2⁄3 innings pitched in 2022 and a 3.91 ERA in 89+2⁄3 innings in 2023, primarily as a stating pitcher.112

On November 14, 2023, the Red Sox added Perales to their 40-man roster to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.113 He began the 2024 season with Greenville, ranked as the Red Sox' number nine minor-league prospect by Baseball America.114 In 9 starts split between Greenville and the Double–A Portland Sea Dogs, Perales compiled a 2–2 record and 2.94 ERA with 56 strikeouts across 33+2⁄3 innings pitched. On June 18, 2024, it was announced that Perales would require Tommy John surgery, ending his season.115

Perales was optioned to Double-A Portland to begin the 2025 season as he continued to recover from surgery.116

Dalton Rogers

Dalton Thomas Rogers (born January 18, 2001) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Rogers attended Northwest Rankin High School in Flowood, Mississippi.117 Rogers played college baseball career at Southeastern Louisiana in 2020. He transferred to Jones County Junior College in 2021.118 He transferred again to Southern Miss in 2022.119 He finished the 2022 season with 1.95 ERA with 57 strikeouts in 37 innings pitched.120 In 2021 and 2022, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League.121122

Rogers was selected in the third round of the 2022 MLB draft by the Boston Red Sox.123 He was assigned to the Rookie Florida Complex League Red Sox on August 15, 2022. He was later signed to the Single–A Salem Red Sox on April 5, 2023.124 On May 24, 2023, he was promoted to the High–A Greenville Drive.125

David Sandlin

David Eleck Sandlin (born February 21, 2001) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Sandlin attended Owasso High School in Owasso, Oklahoma, and played college baseball at Eastern Oklahoma State College and for the Oklahoma Sooners. In one season at Oklahoma, he pitched in 19 games (18 starts) while posting a 5.59 earned run average (ERA) and striking out 102 batters in 95 innings.126 He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 11th round of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft.127

Sandlin signed with the Royals and made his professional debut in 2022 with the Arizona Complex League Royals, pitching in one game for two innings.128 In 2023, he played for the Single-A Columbia Fireflies and the High-A Quad Cities River Bandits, posting a combined 3.51 ERA in 14 games (all starts) while striking out 87 batters in 66+2⁄3 innings.129130

On February 17, 2024, the Royals traded Sandlin to the Boston Red Sox in exchange for John Schreiber.131132 Sandlin began the 2024 season with the Red Sox' High-A affiliate, the Greenville Drive, with whom he was 0–2 with a 5.12 ERA in 31+2⁄3 innings.133134 In 2024, he also pitched for the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs, with whom he was 0–2 with a 5.61 ERA in 25+2⁄4 innings.135

Payton Tolle

Payton John Tolle (born November 1, 2002) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Boston Red Sox organization.

Tolle attended Bethany High School in Bethany, Oklahoma. He started his college baseball career at Wichita State University, where he was a two-way player and was a finalist for the John Olerud Award as a sophomore in 2023.136 After the 2023 season Tolle entered the transfer portal and transferred to Texas Christian University (TCU).137 In his lone year at TCU in 2024, he was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Year after going 7–4 with a 3.21 earned run average (ERA) and 125 strikeouts in 81+1⁄3 innings.138

Tolle was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the second round of the 2024 Major League Baseball Draft.139140 He signed with the Red Sox and made his professional in 2025 with the Greenville Drive.

Full Triple-A to Rookie League rosters

As part of Major League Baseball's restructuring of Minor League Baseball prior to the 2021 season, the Red Sox dropped the Lowell Spinners, a Class A Short Season team, as an affiliate.141

Triple-A

The Worcester Red Sox are members of the International League. They have been a Red Sox affiliate since 2021.

Double-A

The Portland Sea Dogs are members of the Eastern League. They have been a Red Sox affiliate since 2003.

High-A

The Greenville Drive are members of South Atlantic League. They have been a Red Sox affiliate since 2005.

Single-A

The Salem Red Sox are members of Carolina League. They have been a Red Sox affiliate since 2009.

Rookie

The Florida Complex League Red Sox are members of the Florida Complex League (FCL). They have been a Red Sox affiliate since 1989; the team was known as the Gulf Coast League Red Sox prior to 2021.

Foreign Rookie

The Dominican Summer League Red Sox are members of the Dominican Summer League (DSL). They have been a Red Sox affiliate since 1997. Since 2015, the Red Sox have usually fielded two teams in the DSL, differentiated as 1 and 2 or Blue and Red.
