2001 NFL draft
66th annual meeting of National Football League franchises to select newly eligible players

The 2001 NFL Draft, officially the "NFL Player Selection Meeting," took place at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City on April 21–22. The Atlanta Falcons selected quarterback Michael Vick from Virginia Tech first overall. The draft order was based on the prior season's results, with exceptions for the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens and runner-up New York Giants. Notably, the last active player from this draft was Drew Brees, drafted by the San Diego Chargers. Many first-round picks earned Pro Bowl honors, while the last pick, Tevita Ofahengaue, known as Mr. Irrelevant, never played in the NFL.
