2004 NFL draft
69th annual meeting of National Football League franchises to select newly eligible players

The 2004 NFL draft, officially the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting, took place April 24–25 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Broadcast on ESPN and later ESPN2, the draft began with the San Diego Chargers selecting Eli Manning, who was traded to the New York Giants for Philip Rivers. The draft set records for most first-round trades and wide receivers selected, with notable first rounders from the University of Miami and Ohio State setting selection records. The 255 draftees included 48 defensive backs, 32 wide receivers, 28 linebackers, and 17 quarterbacks, contributing to an event rich in talent and history.
